Product Description:
Cyanuric Acid or isocyanuric Acid is a white and odorless solid. That is used as a precursor or component of bleaches, disinfectants and herbicides. Cyanuric Acid is the cyclic trimer of cyanic acid and is noted for its strong interaction with melamine. Cyanuric Acid was initially produced by the thermal decomposition of urea and uric acid. And is currently produced in various way one via thermal decomposition of urea at 175 degrees C which releases ammonia. It can also be produced by hydrolysis of crude or waste melamine followed by crystallization. Cyanuric Acid is mainly used a a precursor to N-chlorinated cyanurates which is used to disinfect water. One of the main uses of CYA is its ability to bind free chlorine and release it gradually which is why its used as a pool/water treatment chemical as a chlorine stabilizer. Cyanuric Acid can be used in a wide range of applications from water treatment to a cross linking agent in resins for plastics. Connection Chemical carries a wide range of Cyanuric and Isocyanuric Acids. Contact us today for a quote.
